Shop quality used Cadillac transmissions for the Escalade, CTS, SRX, ATS, XTS, STS and DTS. Every automatic is pressure tested with the solenoid readings recorded, the fluid condition is inspected and reported, and the mileage comes off the donor vehicle rather than an estimate.
Cadillac fitment turns on the RPO option code, not the model year. The code is on the glovebox or door-jamb sticker and it is what separates two units that are both listed as the same number of speeds — on an XTS, for example, opt M7W is the front-drive unit and opt M7U the all-wheel-drive one, and GW5 and D70 are two different final drive ratios in the same model year. Send us the code, or just the VIN, and we will confirm the exact unit and everything that interchanges with it.

Two things worth knowing before you order
The Escalade draws on the GM full-size truck pool, so a correctly coded Silverado, Suburban or Yukon Denali unit of the same generation fits — which widens the pool considerably and usually brings the price down. The Escalade almost always took the heavier option for its year, so it is the 6L90 rather than the 6L80 and the 4L80E rather than the 4L60E.
The front-drive cars use the 6T70 family, and its signature failure is the wave plate in the 3-5 reverse clutch assembly fracturing, which takes third, fifth and reverse at once. A shudder or a flare on an upshift is the warning sign. Where a unit has that history we say so on the product page rather than leaving you to find out.
