Nissan Sentra Used Transmissions
Sentra transmissions divide at 2007, the year the CVT arrived. Before that they are conventional four-speed automatics or a manual; after it every automatic is a continuously variable transmission, and that is what most of these pages are about. The exceptions are the SE-R and Spec V cars, which kept a six-speed manual, and the NISMO.

How to pick the right one
Model year and engine, and say whether the car is an SE-R, Spec V or NISMO because those are dedicated parts. The 2006-to-2007 change is the hard line — a conventional automatic will not go into a CVT car or the reverse. Inside the CVT years, the RE0F08 and the RE0F11 are different units with different cooling arrangements. On a manual car, a synchro and a bearing is often the real need rather than a whole gearbox.
What usually fails on these transmissions
The CVT is what brings these cars in, and the sequence is the familiar one: shudder from a stop, a flare or lag on acceleration, a whine, then limp mode. Heat and belt and pulley wear are the causes, and the fluid interval is what decides the life. If you fit a replacement, service the cooler circuit at the same time and use genuine NS-2 or NS-3 fluid. Check your VIN against Nissan's extended CVT coverage first, because a number of build ranges were covered to ten years or 120,000 miles. On the older RE4F03 units the common item is the valve body.
What ships with every unit
- Pressure tested with the solenoid readings recorded, and the fluid condition inspected and reported.
- Fitment matched — send us the model year, engine, drivetrain and the RPO option code or ID tag and we confirm the part before the order ships.
- Written warranty on every transmission, with labour coverage available.
- Free freight anywhere in the lower 48, crated on a pallet to a commercial address or a terminal.

Nissan Sentra used transmissions - frequently asked questions
Which transmissions did the Nissan Sentra use?
Across 1991 to today the Nissan Sentra was built with RE4F03A, 5-speed manual, RE4F03B, 6-speed manual, RE0F08A / RE0F08B, RE0F11A, CVT or 6-speed manual and Xtronic CVT. The table above lists which one belongs to each generation, with the transmission designation and option code that identifies it.
How do I identify the right transmission for my Nissan Sentra?
Four things decide it: model year, engine, drivetrain, and the option or RPO code. That code is the one most people do not have to hand and the one that settles it - on a GM vehicle it is on the glovebox or door-jamb sticker, on a Chrysler it is on the build sheet, and on a Ford it is on a tag on the case. Send us the VIN and the code and we confirm the unit before anything ships.
Will a transmission from a different year fit my Nissan Sentra?

What comes with a used Nissan Sentra transmission?
Every transmission is pressure tested with the solenoid readings recorded and the test sheet ships in the box. The unit is matched to your VIN and option code before the order goes out, carries a written warranty with labour coverage available, and freight is free anywhere in the lower 48.
