Generation first — 1995–2004, 2005–2015 or 2016 on — then four-cylinder or V6. Nothing crosses between the 3.4L 5VZ-FE and the 4.0L 1GR-FE, and nothing crosses between the 1GR-FE and the 3.5L 2GR-FKS. On four-cylinder trucks, the 3RZ-FE and the 2TR-FE share a displacement but have different blocks and heads, with 2005 as the changeover.
